Smith Family Recovery

On February 1, 2018, Sam and Kymbrlee Smith and their 3 children were traveling home from vacation on I-80. While do not have all the details, authorities believe the truck vered off the road, up and over the guardrail, and collapsed into the embankment on the side of the road underneath the interstate.
Kymbrlee, a wonderful caring wife and mother, who loved the Lord and desired to grow in her relationship with Him, died on impact.
Sam, her husband, was unconscience.
The children, ages 10, 3, and 21 months, were in the backseat. The oldest child, Ryan, was able to get out of his seatbelt and keep his sisters warm while waiting for help to arrive.
They believe it  was 2-3 hours, at least, before they were found because they had fallen onto the road below and were hidden from view of those passing by.

They were found around 5:45 am, and four of them were taken by ambulance to the nearest hosptial. Sam was lifeflighted to the University of Utah Hospital with a brain bleed and several facial fractures.  The children had minor injuries but did not have to be hospitalized.

Friday, February 2nd, Sam continues to improve and is showing responsive signs. He's able to move when the nurses ask him to, lift his arm, squeeze a hand, and tried to open his eyes. His eyes and face are very swollen and he is on a breathing tube.

We rejoice that Kymbrlee had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and is in His presence now.
We know the Great Physician and are praying for the Lord to give complete healing to Sam.
We are praying for the children as they process all that has happened.

Please pray with us for this family.  If the Lord leads you to help financially, here are some of the anticipated needs:
Cost of ambulance transport for 4 people
Lifeflight cost for Sam
Hospital costs
Anticipated need for Physical Therapy
Funeral costs for Kymbrlee
Longterm daily care of Sam and the children.

NOTE: If you prefer to send a check directly to Sam, please make it out to Sam Smith and mail it to his church:

*Romans 10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
