After School Tutoring Program

Swan Valley High School is on the path of creating a system of academic, behavioral and social interventions for the benefit of all our students. One of the interventions we have created is an After School Tutoring (AST) program. This program with replace the punative ZAP program that was in place previously.
Our plan is to provide tutoring for all students two days per week (Wednesday & Thursday). The tutoring session will be supervised by two teachers and several student peer mentors (high school or college students from SVSU). Not only will we providing academic assistance for all our student, we will also be providing an after school snack for all participating students. We are asking that you help us feed all our AST students.
For many of our students, school is a safe place for them. By providing academic support with an after school snack many of our at risk and general population students will leave better prepared for their after school events (i.e. parctices, meetings, etc...) and to handle their challenges outside the walls of school.
