Algae to Fuel the World
We are Grandview Preparatory School's SRT (Scientific Research Team). In our picture, left-to-right, is Bryan Hernandez, Tasman Rosenfeld, and Jack Forney and we are in the Endangered Species Greenhouse that we built last year. The three of us are part of a special program at our high school that focuses on pursuing our passions, and this year we are trying to isolate new marine micro algae species that produce a high-lipid count. To show the usefulness of the this biofuel, we plan to run a car off of it. The money you will hopefully donate will go towards the expensive equipment involved in small-scale algae growth and lipid extraction, as well as the engine and body of an old car.
We encourage you to donate to our research because, frankly, this research could change the balance of power in the world as well as what human interaction with our environment looks like. In short, this technology can and (with funding) take humankind to the next level.
