Advocacy 4 children w/disabilities

Tax deductible
This 2017 Christmas season was made very special for many children disabilities and their families because of people just like you. SKI hosted its 28th Annuel Christmas Party on December 16, 2017.   With 215 attendees,  your monetary gifts helped SKI provide a gift, pictures with Santa and a full coarse Christmas dinner for each child, youth, and young adults with disabilities.  Additionally, families enjoyed games, crafts, prizes and entertainment.  Also, all siblings 12 and under received a gift.

Who We Are
Special Kids, Incorporated (SKI) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization providing advocacy services and positive support to families of children with disabilities. Families served by SKI are different in culture, ethnicity and background; however, they share the similar challenges of meeting the basic needs of their children with  disabilities including but is not limited to knowledge of their rights and the rights of their child, access to health care, educational and community resources, transition and vocational training. Families are also dealing with disability related stigma and isolation.  SKI is here to reduce and/or eliminate these barriers while empowering parents to get the help they need for their children.

Our Mission
Special Kids, Incorporated (SKI) is committed to empowering and supporting families of children and individuals with disabilities that have been traditionally underserved and underrepresented.  SKI fostering one-on-one services so that families gain assistance, flexible service delivery, and acknowledgment of the rights of  children with disabilities to be an integral part of their community and live life to their fullest potential.

Our fundraising goal for 2018 is $50,000. Your donation will go to provide one year of revenue for the day to day operation of SKI programs (Parent consultations, workshops and advocacy training, ARD/IEP meeting support, Project Swag and SKI sponsored community family events).

The need is real for families of children with disabilities.  95% of the families served by SKI are low income.  Parents of these children struggle day to day to meet the basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing.  Now imagine the challenges they face with getting an appropriate educational services and supports for their child with a disability.

SKI depends on donations from people like you.  Donors who see and believe in the work SKI does and are willing to provide what they can to keep these services in place for these children. Your gift allows us to continue serving families of children with disabilities at no cost to the families. Just like most of us, all parents of children with disabilities want to do all they can to provide the best opportunities for their children.  for 28 years these families have been able to get help and support they need through Special Kids, Incorporated.

Your gift of any amount will help SKI continue serving families throughout 2018, free of charge.
