HELP OUR TURKANA FRIENDS BUILD A SHELTER TO HOST THE SICK AND ORPHANS.
-it only takes 500 people donating $20 each.
PARKATI IS AN ISOLATED VILLAGE IN THE DESERT OF TURKANA, NORTHERN KENYA (border of Ethiopa).
DIVINE GUIDANCE TOOK ME THERE, 5 YEARS AGO!(my Name is Maude Nelly, am 69 and live in Canada).
MY HEART WAS FILLED WITH SO MUCH COMPASSION FOR THE PLIGHT OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY - mainly women and children.
So many of these women suffer in silence from condition that only a few dollars of medical care could remedy!
Upon my return i founded a Non-Profit Society(can not issue tax receipt), in Victoria, b.c./Canada.(www.turkanaempowermentproject.org)
HEALTH CARE IS THE MOST NEEDED SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE CRY FOR.
82 KM SEPARATE THEM FROM THE 1ST TOWN'S HOSPITAL ! Even if they can walk these distances, the majority of them do not have the $5 to pay for Dr's fee and medications.
We managed to purchase a piece of land to build a refuge home for them to come to town, have a place to stay, receive nutritious food while being cared for at the hospital.
The cost of building the Refuge is $15000.
So far we have fundraised $5000, so 1/3 of the project.
Due to the desperate need for help, we set our goal to start building asap, latest September 2018.
We will continue to do local fundraisings. The GoFundMe is an opportunity to reach out to a greater audience and reach our goal faster.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE A SMALL DONATION AS EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS AND WILL BE APPLIED COMPLETELY TO THE PROJECT.

When i go there i bring my tent. The village has no electricity, no network, no running water. There is a well built by the Catholic Church. I bring my own food as these people eat mainly "ugali" maize meal and survive on one meal/day, if they are lucky. More often they eat every 2nd or 3rd day !

The only concrete buildings are the school rooms build by the Catholic Mission!
