SCSU Adv Foundation Fundraiser

SCSU Bulldogs, Alumni, and Friends,

The SC State University Advancement Foundation (“Advancement Foundation”) writes this letter as a call to action. The Advancement Foundation is a 501c3 Non Profit Organization which was established almost a decade ago at the request of the Board of Trustees and the University’s Administration for assistance on behalf of our beloved SC State. The majority of our efforts have been on some of the capital needs of the University along with scholarships and other financial needs.

All of us have watched our beloved SC State suffer financially over the past several years! Now, more than ever, we must “ defend and honor” SC State. As we promised, we must “rally to her call.” We must demonstrate to others that we CAN AND WILL support OUR University. One way to ensure that the rich legacy of SC State continues is through financial giving. It matters NOT whether you give to us or to the long standing SC State Educational Foundation, but it is imperative that you give!

The Advancement Foundation has initiated a “GoFundMe” fundraising campaign in support of SC State. GoFundMe is a social media tool aimed at allowing donors to easily, and conveniently, give a monetary gift to a charity of their choice. You can access “GoFundMe” and make a financial contribution to SC State by visiting www.gofundme.com/SC State. You can also download the Gofundme.com App and give from your phone! Many organizations, including fellow HBCUs, have successfully used social media to raise money for worthwhile projects.

Your financial contribution is a WIN-WIN for You and the University. Your gift is tax-deductible and will be used as unrestricted funds for Advancing the Cause of this great University. All funds given through this challenge will be accounted for and reported by the Advancement Foundation. The Foundation’s Audits were completed by a well-respected CPA Firm, and all the opinions of the Audit Firm were “unqualified,” the best opinion that is given.

Please forward the link to all friends and alumni of SC State University. If all of our 30,000 alumni across the globe gave just $34, we would reach our goal of $1M. Imagine the impact if we gave our maximum!
