SB 50 State Fishing Tour

Donation protected
First and foremost, I'd like to say thank you for checking out this gofundme. While asking for help is not my strong suit, I am confident that this project will reciprocate you with entertainment, a little bit of knowledge, and a ton of fish from everywhere around the country. If I could fund this venture solely on my own, I would have already done it.

My plan is to buy and convert a Sprinter (or similar) van into a feasible living space for two people to travel and fish all 48 contiguous states from March-May of 2019. Upon completion of fishing the 48 contiguous, I would fly to Alaska and Hawaii to fish and finish the journey off.

During the trip I am aiming to post 70-85 videos on my Youtube channel (sbfishingtv) ranging from converting the van, rebuilding a new jon boat to take along with me, daily travels, meet ups, and of course fishing.

My goals are to catch a fish in every state, share my experiences of fishing different bodies of water around the country, volunteer in multiple C.A.S.T. for Kids Charity events and to create the best content to my ability while on the road. Beyond these goals, the most crucial piece of this fishing road trip is to meet the people who have supported me. I'd like to be transparent about where I'll be throughout the states, and do as many meet ups as possible on and off the water. I plan on fishing with subscribers all over the country, and would be very willing to put on open (bragging rights) tournaments/fishing meet ups along the way if there is interest.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy watching, or being a part of, I would truly appreciate any help you are willing to give. For me, this is the trip of a lifetime that I want to share, and I hope that you are looking forward to it as much as I am.

A little bit more about the trip:
While fishing in every state has always been a thought in my mind, it wasn't until recently I thought I'd be able to make it happen. I was watching a climbing documentary which showed some of the top climbers in the world living out of their conversion vans and traveling entire countries to climb. I really admired the minimalism of it and daydreamed for a bit about being able to travel the country, knocking off states, and climbs...and that's when I experienced a simultaneous burst of inspiration and light bulb going off in my head moment connecting the dots from these van dwelling climbers to me fishing in every state.
I'm extremely fortunate to be able to call being a content creator on youtube my job, and I realized that as long as I have fishable water, my camera gear, computer, and fishing rods, I can work anywhere. This is when the wheels started turning.
I began reaching out to current and new sponsors to see if they would be of any interest in helping me out with the trip. I started bouncing the idea around with close friends and family to get their input and thoughts. I started researching the best routes to hit every state, and when the optimal time of year to do it would be, then there was the question of a van. Chevy Express Cargo, Ford Transit, RAM Promaster, Mercedes Benz Sprinter, new, used, high top, low top, gas, diesel, how to convert it? You get it. The reason I've set my mind on a Sprinter van (or a similar high topped van) is because they're fuel efficient, safe, somewhat stealthy, and still big enough for 2 people to sleep in. Now I know what your next question is..."two people"? Cue James. Possibly one of my oldest friends, who is willing to come along to help film, edit, drive, fish, and make the entire production of content a higher value.

The last few weeks have been full of ideas, plans and hoping to be able to pull this off.  The last piece of the puzzle and defining moment will be when I can purchase a van for the trip, and while I am planning on investing as much as I possibly can myself for this, any help would be very much appreciated. I'm setting this gofundme with a goal of $10,000 to help pad the cost of the van, gas, fishing licenses, occasional motel room, and any unforeseeable circumstances that may occur. Every penny will go directly toward the trip, and anything in excess will go directly back into the channel and making as much quality content as possible.
