Holistic Liver & Cancer Treatment
My name is Roderick Eldridge II better known as Roddy. For the past 10 years, I've been living with an autoimmune disease called Ulcerative Colitis (UC). In that time, I have been hospitalized and have had to receive more blood transfusions than I care to recall. Over the last 3 years, I have been hospitalized five times and am currently hospitalized. The aforementioned situations have prevented me from keeping a full-time job and much needed health insurance.
In July of 2014, I learned that in addition to UC, I have been diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) which adversely affects my liver. There is currently no cure for this disease. Unfortunately, jaundice and elevated liver counts are indicative of my urgent need for a liver transplant or alternative healing in the coming year. In the meantime, I have made several emergency trips to the hospital for blood transfusions, colonoscopies, and endoscopies in response to colitis flare ups and liver issues.
April 2016, I was admitted to the hospital with severe liver failure issues. So much so that I had a major seizure and often don't remember much of anything from day to day due to my elevated liver levels. My electrolytes were so unstable that my heart health is in jeopardy as well as my kidneys.
I won't bore you with all the medical details but will say this. I am so thankful for the hundreds of prayers and encouraging words from everyone. As a result of those prayers, my liver procedure (ERCP) recently performed was a great success and should bring my liver levels within normal range, thus giving my weary body much needed relief, allowing it to rebound before dealing with the next issue...rectal cancer.
Once we deal with cancer, which is very small and in the early stage (stage 1), we then will deal with controlling and correcting the colitis and liver issues that are temporarily being held at bay with steroids and a stint they put in my liver for up to 3 months. In that time, my goal is to seek holistic treatment to deal with all three issues--cancer, liver disease (PSC) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC).
Since insurance is not excepted, it will cost at least $7K to 10K more than what I have already raised since the start of this campaign.
This is where you come in. Every dollar you donate counts!
Will you help? I pray you will. And I pray God's blessing on you for doing so.
For the most part I've managed to stay out of the hospital. I broke my hip last month but I am healing well. I will be meeting up with my radiation dr 04/11/17 to have a MRI done to see how the cancer in my upper rectum is coming along. After that I will be starting my radiation therapy treatment. Keep me in your prayers this summer. I pray that I am cancer free by my birthday this year(08/11/2017).
praying praying praying for you.
Hi I'm a former choir member of RPC. I also had Psc and eventually was transplanted 6 years ago at Georgetown.I will be praying for your healing.
Hi Buddy, I hope you are doing ok today and want you to know that I will be lifting you up in prayer with my church family and my prayer circle every chance I get until you get better! I was looking on Adventist Music Gateway website and clicked the link to your mom's link to her broadjam.com website and was really touched by her music. I then searched for her on facebook and turns out we have a friend in common =-) Small world, I am in Portland OR but have friends all over the country. I saw her post of your go fund me page and have posted her link to your campaign on my facebook page as well as another link to her music on reverbnation. I have a son and daughter in their early 20's and I just can't imagine them being sick and not being able to make it all better. But I know that God loves you even more than your mom or more than I love my children and trusting in Him has lifted me out of a lot of trials so I hope you can be at peace in His caring arms!!! Take Care, Deborah
