My name is Jo Villafuerte. This gofundme account is for my sweet , three-year-old niece/roommate, Kara Evan Khamo. Kara is my cousin's daughter.
On January 2nd, 2016 Kara was admitted at Children's Hospital Orange County (CHOC). During her stay, she underwent several diagnostic exams. After 5 long days, she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, a rare cancer. If you have trouble finding her, simply type in her name - Kara Khamo. ABOUT KARA & HER FAMILY
Kara is probably one of the spunkiest toddlers you will ever meet. Her mom likes to joke around that she is "three going on thirty". Kara loves to draw, paint, sing, watch Disney movies, and play hide and seek. She has a big brother, Robbie (age 7), who she adores very much. Before she got sick, she copied everything Robbie did. They played ninjas, nerf gun wars, and tag. Kara is definitely lucky to have a brother that is so patient, protective, and loving. There's also baby brother Donnovan Zachary, dubbed by Kara as "Zach Attack". Zach was born amidst all the chaos during Kara's initial hospital stay. We believe he is the light to our family, and was born to bring strength and healing, especially to Kara.
Mom, Donnikah is a nurse at Orange County Plastic Surgery. She is passionate about her job and loves helping people. Dad, Chris, serves as a staff sergeant in the US Army (12 years and going strong) and works with me at Solar City.
Kara is like a daughter to me, I plan to do anything in my power to help her and her family.
For those who are interested in helping, there's a few ways you can do so:
1)The rigorous course of Kara's treatment requires regular blood transfusions. You can donate blood and/or platelets to Kara. Please call the CHOC Blood Bank at (714) [phone redacted] to set up an appointment to be a direct donor for her.
Kara can receive:
O+ Blood
O+ & A+ Platlets
2) If you're not local, or are not a match, monetary support is also appreciated. The funds raised here would go toward medical expenses for Kara's long journey, or any other expense pertaining to Kara's treatment.
3) Prayers are MOST needed for our little fighter. The more prayer warriors we have, the better chances of a speedy recovery.
