Pokemon Cypher 2016

CAMPAIGN GOAL REACHED; STRETCH GOAL, $10,000 (Info at the bottom)

Hey guys, shofu here! I went into great detail in the video (please watch it!) but I'll summarize it here as well.

Pokemon Cypher 2016! You guys demanded it, and we're here to deliver. But the truth is, it's a much more demanding job than people realize. Pokemon Cypher 2013 was pretty much the job of two people, myself and Matt Houston. It was a strenuous task consisting of having the beats made, collecting the verses (this was stressful because of deadlines and irresponsibility, chasing people around and asking them where their verses were) compiling the song, and editing the video. Matt took care of the song, while I shot and edited the music video. Keep in mind that Pokemon Cypher 2013 is a 12 minute song. This was no easy task. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, simply because of the sheer amount of time that was consumed. I was heavily pressured to deliver something amazing. It took me a week straight of editing (no exaggeration) and I just can't handle that again.

This time around, we seek the aid of professionals. The biggest reason we never did another Pokemon Cypher aside from the work load is because we didn't know how to top it. The production level of Pokemon Cypher 2013 simply isn't going to cut it this time around. If we're going to do this, we want to make it epic. We want to do it right. The Pokemon Cypher has opened so many opportunities for all of us and we want to leave our mark with amazing visuals of a scale incomparable to the last cypher, but we lack the resources to accomplish this. That's where you come in.

With the money we receive, we wish to hire a videographer and fly out the artists who are not fortunate enough to have the funds to fly to Pokemon Worlds 2016, which is where we plan to shoot the music video. This gives us the perfect filming location, as well as giving the fans who will be in attendance the chance to join in on the fun! Not to mention we'll all be in the same place for once. This will give the music video a consistent look, rather than having everybody individually record their parts with different cameras. The song will consist of multiple custom original beats made by various producers, and feature 14 different artists (to be kept secret until time of release).

The videographer we plan to hire is Jakob Owens. He's an excellent director and editor who has shot music videos for countless professional artists. From what I know, he charges between $2,500 - $3,000 per music video but that price scares me a little considering the song will be around 12 minutes. He could potentially charge way more because of the extra time he will have to spend on it. That may seem like a lot of money, but it's fairly reasonable for the quality of work to be done. I thank you guys for the support from the bottom of my heart. This song is very important to all of us, but at the end of the day we're doing this for the fans who have been demanding it since 2013. This is for you, and we intend to deliver everything you guys have been asking for.

STRETCH GOAL: $10,000
$10,000 will allow us to take care of everything from housing and flights to emergencies very comfortably with no worries. It will also help pay for any additional editing we may need done by Jakob Owens.
