The Pittsburgh Bridge Campaign

Donation protected
Life has come full circle here in Pittsburgh. I've gained lessons for life. One that helps me realize that in life, you have to strike balance and a pose , over , and over , and over  again, like you mean it .  Feel free to browse the many "Selfie Bombs" I've taken as I've moved through the city to connect with passionate and purpose-driven individuals.

Upon moving back to Pittsburgh in 2013, I arrived with:
- a desire to find balance for my children and myself,
- 3 outfits and,
- 400 dollars worth of food stamps.

I re-enrolled to finish my Chemical Engineering degree. I went from being an unemployed, Carnegie Mellon University college “drop out” and mother of two on welfare to a 2015 Carnegie Mellon University Aluma with a successful Curriculum Development company that merges her experience with Engineering and the Arts to create resources sharing opportunities.

In 2012, as Lead Resource Developer of Garysburg Volunteer Public Library in Garysburg, NC,  I was able to bring world-renowned Lesole's Dance Group to share the value of dance and drum with community members aged 2 - 72.  Electronic devices were not on my side. I only have 1 picture from that day.

Fast forward to January 25, 2016; my hope is that you will chose to contribute to creating more opportunities for high-quality learning experiences.   I look forward to orchestrating more opportunities to support community and small business owners build their brand and create videos and digital memories (like the one posted) for social groups like sYOUper Fly  and community driven projects like "Tea, On Me. "

I have been able to gain commitment from the teaching artists, architects and brilliant brains behind the Land Art Generator Initiative. Elizabeth and Robert are the dynamic duo that I interviewed for Freedom Radio . They will be traveling from Pittsburgh to Gaston, NC as visitors at KIPP: Pride High's intercession week.

The “Art+Energy ” program will be modified as a week-long push in program that will allow students to learn about climate change and the design of public art that can generate clean energy while being esthetically appealing.

My hope is that you will consider donating to ensure that the connections made with other small business owners through projects like “Tea, on Me” will help to build bridges to communities that don't have the same access to resources. With your contribution my hopes are to:
Fund an Entrepreneurship, Engineering and Arts mini-lecture series to include
- Elder and Pittsburgh resident Mr. Walter Fortson (Author of Help Your Children Make Million$: (And Live Debt Free))
- Veteran teaching artist and cultural architect Luqmon Abdus-Salaam (CEO, S Group)
- Social entrepreneurs and culinary artists of IERN Chef Pittsburgh:
            - Cheyanne Bronzell (Owner and operator, Phat Girlz A Cookin', LLC)
             - Malik Hamilton (MA Food Studies, Historical Record Indexer for The Freedmen's Bureau Project)
- International drummer and painter Dion Jacob (Owner, Jacob Arts)
- Leader of the 100 Million Step Challenge, Roland Ford (National Soul line Dancing Instuctor and Trail-blazer)
- Award winning-producer and composer Akil Esoon (Founder Undeniable Music Group)
- Other dedicated entrepreneurs and community leaders that show a commitment to being they change they want to see.

I value overall wellness. Environmental, Personal, Financial, and Physical wellness are all components in leading a healthy and fulfilling life. With your financial support and commitment to being a part of the collective knowledge of the community, we can share the wealth of resources that Pittsburgh has with my hometown of Gaston, North Carolina.
