Piper's Medical Fund!

Donation protected
Piper was born on 5/11/2018 and brought home at the age of  2 months in July 2018. Within a few days of bringing her home, her family realized that Piper was having some medical issues. She was diagnosed with a severe UTI, which is almost unheard of at her young age. After antibiotics did not help with curing the UTI, and she developed other concerning issues, her family decided to take the testing further. At only the age of 4 months, Piper was diagnosed with Kidney Disease on 9/12/18, which means she is currently in Kidney failure. Piper's family has taken her to the University of Pennsylvania for treatment, as well as weekly visits to Plains Animal Hospital. She has been on countless medications (one was $15 a pill, which she needed to take everyday) to try and help her disease as much as possible, has blood work done multiple times a month, constant vet visits, fluids that her family has to give her multiple days a week at home, and has an extremely dedicated family who is determined to keep her happy and alive as long as possible. Piper currently has yet another UTI (7TH ONE), and is being kept on a low dose antibiotic for the rest of her life (on top of other pills she is occasionally put on). She is about half of the size a Boxer should be due to the disease.

Piper has to be on strict diet that consists of prescription wet and ry dog food, and well as prescription dog treats. Her wet dog food is $35.99 a case (12 cans), dry food is $87 for a 27lb bag, and treats are $15 for a 12oz bag.
Due to her disease, her family also needs to pay for a weekly pet sitter to check on her mid-day, to make sure she is feeling ok and has enough water to last her until the late afternoon. Piper's dad is a state trooper with a busy and hectic schedule, and her mom is a teacher who has been needing to take more and more time off to bring Piper to appointments. Piper also has to little human siblings that simply adore her. Her best friend in the whole entire world is her little sister, whose side she never leaves.

Currently, Piper's vet bills alone are around $5,000. Thatdoes not include the $1200 that has already been paid to UPenn. The bills continue to grow between Plains Animal Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, emergency vet visits at night, food, and transportation fees to her appointments (gas and tolls). Piper's family is beyond dedicated to her care, but are really struggling to afford all of the care. They have begun a care credit card, on top of the visits they have put onto their personal cards.

At this point, the family is praying that a GoFundMe can help them continue Piper's care so that theycan keep her alive and happy as long as possible. If they are able to pay off the current debt, it will allow them to continue to care for Piper and her disease, without having to make any hard money saving decisions. Any amount can help save this sweet 8 month old Boxer!
