Pegram Family Fire Tragedy
We are the Pegram Family
On January 5th, 2016 at around 2:15am our house went up in flames. There were only three of us in the house at the time, but five were affected by the destruction. Channel 8 News Story

The fire had bloomed so quickly one of our family members had succumbed to smoke inhalation and passed out. I was able to drag her to safety along with the three family dogs. We believe one of our two cats has been lost.
I had inhaled a great deal of smoke in the proccess and had to be taken to the Emergency Department along with her and my girlfriend who had assisted in the rescue. The rescued family member is currently in the ICU.
Unfortunately, I had started a new job in January and my old medical coverage had ended at the end of December. The house was also not insured.
The house has been utterly lost and the county has estimated the clean up cost to be $7,000-$8,000. We are also looking at an estimated $3,000-$5,000 in medical charges and additional residential expenses.
Your generosity is so special and important to us. We have received tremendous community support in the way of clothing, food, and hygiene products so far.
We are a house full of student volunteers (Alphi Phi Omega Service Fraternity, American Red Cross, Dallas County Medical Reserve Corps) and it has been incredibly humbling to be on the opposite side of misfortune.
With great sincerity,
The Pegram Family
