Plano Senior High School Mission Statement

Plano Senior High School Theatre Department is dedicated to excellence in training well-rounded theatre artists through developing a strong appreciation of performance and design, character development on and off stage, and producing high quality theatre that educates, challenges and entertains our students and audiences.

PSHS has a long, rich history of producing high quality stage productions that entertain, educate and delight the local community. However, these productions come at a cost, which is for the most part NOT funded by the school district. Only the UIL One-Act Competition Play receives a district stipend.


The cost to produce this year’s musical, Jekyll & Hyde The Musical, which will run October 26-28, is estimated to be near $25,000. That sum includes the cost of production rights, costuming, projections, lighting equipment, musicians, audio equipment, and sets construction/building. Plano Senior High School produces two additional mainstage productions, including a senior directed play. The Senior Directed production, Brownstone, will be completely student generated from design and direction to performances.

These productions provide our students with training and experience in advanced technical elements that is on par with some collegiate and professional theatres. But, it’s not without your support!
