School Supplies for Puerto Rico

Donation protected
PS 58 in Brooklyn, NY, is partnering with Escuela Luis M. Santiago, a K-8 public school in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico battered by Hurricane Maria. As you can see in the pictures, the school was gutted by the storm, and with little to no help from the federal government, and already reeling from brutal vulture fund imposed budget cuts, the cleanup is being done by the educators and community. We will be building bridges between our educators, students, and communities in an ongoing way, but right now, what they need most is school supplies.

All donations will go directly into the notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and other necessities that Julio, our contact at the school, said were the most pressing need for his students, and will be sent directly to the teachers at the school to be distributed among the students, with no red tape, bureaucracy, or administrative overhead (other than the GoFundMe fees).

This is true grassroots mutual aid, from your hands to those of the students of Escuela Luis M. Santiago. Please take a minute to show solidarity with the students, with the teachers, with the school, and with Puerto Rico.
