Oscar's Bucket List & Service Fund

My family recently received the devastating news that my dad has stage 4 pancreatic cancer which has metastasized to his liver and lungs.

For two years, doctor's told us that what my dad was battling was necrotic pancreatitis, a manageable disease. For two years, he would only be treated for this particular diagnosis while many  cancer-like symptoms were largely ignored until very recently, now that it is too late.

Today our entire family struggles to come to grips with our unfortunate reality that my loving dad is on borrowed time (1-6 months) all the while, trying to smile and take advantage of every single last moment we have together with our loving father of 3 beautiful girls (33, 12, 8) and a son (30), the eldest of 4 siblings, the "fun" uncle to 6 nieces and nephews, a spoiling grandfather to two adorable toddlers and a friend to countless others.
My father's attitude in light of this heart breaking reality is something that will always be remembered. His peace and faith that God is in control of his life and acceptance that His Will will be done, is something that has helped all his loved ones cope with this situation.
We are a family of faith and we all believe that whenever God decides that it's best that my dad rests, we will one day be reunited with him in the resurrection and when we all go to heaven. Until that day comes however, we would like nothing more than to make our last moments together with him more memorable than ever.
That is why on behalf of my 3 sisters & myself, I would like to start this campaign to help us celebrate my father's final days with us. Together with my dad, we have created a bucket list of sorts; things we'd like to do together as a family so that we can make memories that will last us a lifetime.  We've created a bucket list we would like to complete so that when my dad finally rests, we too can rest assured that we took advantage of every single last day we had with him. He is set to begin chemotherapy in 2.5 weeks. We're all well aware of what lies ahead with such a treatment.  Unfortunately my dad is very familiar with hospitals and even chemotherapy. He beat Leukemia in 2010 after my older sister donated her bone marrow. He's been in and out of the hospital since his "pancreatitis" began in 2014. He's been poked and prodded, bruised and battered, yet he's always maintained an infectious positive attitude and we would want nothing more than for us to create great memories with him that can get us through what we're all about to go through, especially my dad.
Ultimately however, the majority of the funds collected will be used to cover the costs associated with his eventual service.
Being able to enjoy whatever time we have left with my father would mean the world to him and his 4 kids.  Any amount will help and we would be truly grateful. God bless.
