Oscar Norris (W4OXH) 100TH Birthday

CELEBRATION OF THE CENTURY

Oscar Norris (W4OXH) turns 100 years old on September 25th. Oscar has been a member of the Gaston County Amateur Radio Society (GCARS) since 1979. Oscar still continues to mentor the youth, experiment with various types of radio technology, and make local and international contacts. We would like to celebrate this momentous occasion with all the people Oscar has touched over the years. EVERY CLUB IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA AND BEYOND IS INVITED TO THIS EVENT. Oscar has a lot of friends so spread the word in your respective clubs and on your social media accounts.

Oscar Norris (W4OXH) is truly an inspiration to our community and to our close-knit circle of "hams". We suspect that he is the oldest active amateur radio operator in the entire nation. Oscar Norris is sincerely our MOST IMPORTANT MEMBER.

The event is becoming bigger than we could have ever imagined.  We have hams coming from various parts of the country to celebrate in this occasion.

Any funds donated will go directly to the CELEBRATION OF THE CENTURY event.  The money will be used for food for the event, transportation for the citizens who can not get to and from the event, decorations, gifts, prizes, etc...

As president of GCARS, I will personally match the first $200 raised.
