My Art Educational Fund

Resilience would best describe me.  In hopes of becoming an artist, I invested in a for-profit institution exhausting all of my time, effort, and financial support, gaining little formal training with major debt attached.  This major life lesson learned helped me develop myself.  Instead of taking a negative approach on my career, I chose to teach myself by going to the library researching artwork and various artists.

After reaching a certain skill level, I still was not satisfied.  Delaware County Community College was the school I attended from 2011 to 2013.  My work ethic at the college, along with obtaining and utilizing as much information as possible, helped me blossom and immerse myself in the art community.

After graduation, I took a brief hiatus exploring the art world outside of school; interested in feedback from a larger audience, and gaining hands on experience.  Active in my community exhibiting in City Hall, discussing on television the body of work made after graduating, and also participating in Delaware County’s First Friday events. During my intermission from school, I was still able to use the college’s studio, which helped me create artwork for Conception Gallery in Long Island, NY; that was later featured in the “Queens Tribune”, “Queens Chronicle” and some news coverage on “NY1”.  I do not regret the choices made in the past; my work ethic and perseverance will ensure success, no matter how difficult life can be or any obstacle in the way.

Currently enrolled at Tyler School of Art, I have adjusted and excelled with a 3.89 GPA, positive that I am supposed to make art, financial resources will help continue to follow my heart.  It is difficult to reach out to family and friends for support, but having a financial backing whether big or small is definitely needed.  I sincerely appreciate everyone taking time to hear my story and I would like to thank everyone that supports.
