Hi wonderful friends! Bob and Nora are getting better now that they are home and going through therapy. Both will face future surgeries and procedures to correct issues that doctors were not able to fix when the focus in May was to save their lives. We all want to thank you for your support. This fund has made it possible for them to remain independent and not fall into medical bankruptcy. Bills are still coming in and we are doing all we can to negotiate lower fees, but still these two are responsible for a large debt. Your continued support is very important and much appreciated.

Well folks, both Nora and Bob are home again. Bob has been there long enough to be used to being self sufficient again and make things comfy for Nora's arrival today. They still need assistance as neither will be able to work for many months yet and your contributions are so greatly appreciated.
All the love from Nora and Bob.

You guys, we hit $20,000! I wonder if we can exceed the goal this month?
Both Nora and Bob are at the rehab facility and on their respective paths of regaining the strength to walk again. It's a long road to recovery and I know they are both grateful to your support, both financially and emotionally.
Go team Reetie!

Bob is doing well with physical therapy and has been moved to a rehab center. He will get to visit Nora at the main hospital a few times a week for as long as he can bear to sit in the chair.
Big news for Nora too; she is out of ICU! She is breathing on her own and is building up tolerance for the speaking valve. Her next step for the trach is, I believe, to start with ice and make sure she can swallow it without the water moving into her lungs which is the next step towards eating. We got to hear her speak this morning and will try again later today.

Your incredible generosity is helping so much! Thank you and bless you for all you are doing for our kids. They are in their 6th week in the hospital (Nora) and skilled nursing facility (Bob) here in Reno. It may be 4 more weeks before they get to be transferred back to the Portland area, and it is totally uncertain when they will get to live at home independently. Your donations are helping to make their life more predictable and sustaining. You are making it possible for them to pay for COBRA payments for Nora's healthcare. You are making it possible for Bob to be able to pay for at least some of his healthcare. Collectively, you are the best friends that anyone can HOPE to have. Our love and best wishes, Ernie and Pauline Azevedo

Ernie and Pauline - no thanks needed, in my opinion. Just keep doing what you are doing to help them on the road to health. We can't be there, but you are, and it is critical.

Everyone knows Nora and Bob are just two of the best people you'll ever be lucky to meet. This accident happened on the second day of the trip they were taking to celebrate their anniversary. Thank you to every who has donated and to those who donate in the future!! Nora has had a really rough time of it with her mother passing last year and the resulting depression. All this outpouring of love and help will surely go a long way to convince her and Bob, just how special they are to all of us and that they are most deserving of all this love and support. Love you so much, Nora and Bob!

Bob and Nora have come a long way on an amazing journey. Still a couple more surgeries to go, though, before they are through. Let's keep this going for them.
