Betsy DeVos and her family have contributed $98,300* to the campaign coffers of US Senator Marco Rubio.
DeVos embodies the very opposite of a public school defender, yet Senator Rubio has committed to voting for her to be our US Secretary of Education.
Neither Betsy DeVos nor her children have ever attended public school. She has never taught in a classroom. She cannot competently discuss basic educational policy and was even unaware that IDEA is a federal law governing fair and equal treatment of disabled children in school.
If Betsy DeVos can buy Senator Rubio's vote, shouldn’t we be allowed to do the same? Please give generously!
If Senator Rubio does not wish to accept our funds in exchange for voting down Betsy DeVos**, all proceeds will be donated to the fund to help the 7 families challenging the FLDOE and 5 districts on mandatory 3rd grade retention.
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, oral arguments will be heard in Tallahassee regarding venue.
Without public support, families may have to abandon their challenge, which began last August. The success of this effort has broad national implications.
