Joseph's New Wheelchair Fund

Joseph Brooks Rushing was born with cancer of the spine and though a cancer survivor, has undergone dozens of surgeries to his spine and legs. He cannot walk and recently was forced to face the fact that there is no surgery or rehabilitation possible to ever enable him to walk again. He has been confined to the same wheelchair for over 8 years now. His chair is simply falling apart, it has had multiple welding jobs, duct tape, and home-made repairs which hold it together. Joseph is a very active 15 year old young man! He plays football, basketball, and his newly learned sport this past week, racquetball!  Joseph is also a gifted singer-song-writer and guitarist. He is the lead singer for the band E-Town and writes, sings, and plays his own original songs. Joseph's family is unable to afford a new chair and his insurance will not fund another chair because he has not had this one long enough, despite the fact that he has doubled in size since receiving his present chair! Joseph needs a chair that matches his amazing physicality, strength, and character. Joseph is an over-comer, he never complains, despite enduring daily pain from multiple spine and leg surgeries, steel rods in his legs, and of course the constant challenge of rolling wherever he goes. The chair we want to buy for him is state of the art, strong, light-weight, and durable. The chair will afford him the ability to grow; it is adjustable and can handle up to a 275 pound man! He spends nearly every weekend at our house. Our family loves Joseph like a son and wants to surprise him by raising enough money to order him the new chair.
