Team Eagles, with former and current USA Tae Kwon Do National Team members are striving for 2020 Olympics.
Unfortunately, The United States Tae Kwon Do Organizations including the New York State TKD organizations does not give any financial support to the athletes. The families are responsible for travel expenses, hotel expenses, food and tickets to get into the venues.
We have traveled outside of our comfort zone to compete in prize claiming competitions in hopes to earn plane tickets and we were turned off by the politics and lack of fair play. This is not limited to our consistent cross training and willing to travel to the end of the globe. As a coach, I also emphasize my athletes to overcome shallow surface of unfortunate biased malpractice. Not to dwell on the unfortunate reality or to leave the possible outcome to the judges, or blame it on the weather or the condition of one's well being. We are reminded to win with points' gap, knockout, so it prevents any corruption any question of doubt.
Internally at Eagles Training Center, we have sponsored few athletes to participate in competitions including international competitions. We provided sponsorship to athletes for German Open, Costa Rica Open, Mexico Open, Nationals, and more. We feel that if we can do it in our shoe box sized Academy with fund raising events, weekend community service, etc., an extended organization should recognize these talented team members and motivate them during their process of the race.
We have dedicated, responsible, hard working athletes with outstanding work habits with our parents being our backbone which includes juggling school work, SAT prep, traveling, weight cutting,
and training in between our expected responsibilities.
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise enough money so that there will be less burden to athletes and their family members so that they may focus on training.
We are very grateful for the support of the community and friends who are helping to make this Olympic dream come true.
