Natasha's Transplant Fund

Donation protected

At 7 weeks old Natasha appeared slightly jaundice. Her parents took her to the doctor, which referred them to the UW Hospital where she was diagnosed with Biliary Artesia. This is a rare life threatening liver disorder that affects infants. It is a disease of the bile ducts, either inside our outside the liver. The bile ducts become inflamed or blocked before or shortly after birth. It affects 1 in 16,000 babies. There is no cure for Biliary Artesia, but treatment includes a procedure called Kasai or a liver transplant.
Natasha had the Kasai procedure at 12 weeks to establish bile flow from the liver to the small intestine. The doctors looped and attached her intestine to a bile duct and she has been able to live a relatively normal life, but has struggled with bacterial cholangitis through the years.
She recently had another attack of bacterial cholangitis and the doctors performed surgery to try and open the blockages. The surgery was unsucessful and the doctors informed her that they couldn't do anything else for her. She will keep having issues until she will eventually need a liver transplant.
Natasha, at age 35 is a single mother of three children. She has a son who is autistic and twin girls. She owns a local dog grooming business called Classy Canine Cuts. With her liver issues she has no idea how her health will be day to day and how much she will be able to work. The funds earned through donations will be put in an account to be used when her health causes financial issues and medical bills.
