My AmpSurf Fundraiser

I lost my leg 16 years ago and had always wanted to surf, but had failed at previous attempts. After being laid up for 4 months when my leg was amputated, I finally had the opportunity to try again. My first day I rode a couple waves in laying down and loved it. The second day I stood up for about a second and was hooked! I new if a chubby farm boy from Maine could learn to surf with one leg, anyone could! With a couple fellow amputees and our prosthetist, I began organizing the first ever AmpSurf Learn to Surf Clinic to teach others living with disabilities how to surf. In October of 2003 the event happened. Since AmpSurf has grown to have three chapters around the country and has taught thousands of people living with disabilities how to surf and focus on what they can do, not what they can't do! Please join me in my effort to keep AmpSurf sharing the healing power of the ocean with others living with disabilities and also inspiring all to do more with what they have, disabled or not!
Your donations will help AmpSurf sponsor disabled Veterans and local disabled to attend AmpSurf Learn to Surf Clinic's, Help disabled athlete's like myself compete and inspire others to push themselves further, Allow AmpSurf to continue to expand and reach more people living with disabilities.
