                   CALL TO ACTION 2018:  "MUTE"
A Short Film BY Vets FOR Vets

GOAL:  $25,000
DEADLINE:  August, 2018
PURPOSE: THRILLER SHORT FILM PRODUCTION

The Crestline Creative Arts Foundation, a small independent 501©(3) non-profit registered with the IRS since 2004, based in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California which is primarily operated by two Disabled Veterans who served with honor.

US Army Vietnam Veteran, Reggie Bannister (Actor/Producer Phantasm I-V , Bloody Bloody Bible Camp ) and US Army Grenada Veteran, Gigi Porter-Bannister (Producer/ Director/ Actor/ SFX, Bloody Bloody BIble Camp , Phantasm IV-V ), have sought to use their extensive 43+ year (each) celebrity and skills in the motion picture and entertainment industry to help other Veterans make the necessary transition to civilian life, recognize the ability to utilize their military discipline and skill sets to a non-military capacity and to provide valuable vocational job training for those who have need.  In doing so, suspending the real world paradigm operating on “Movie Time” for projects – even briefly - allows the Veteran a moment to reset, rethink, adjust, and a chance to just breathe… thereby benefitting and relieving symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and improving other mental and physical impairments.

CCAF has developed a program entitled “Call To Action” where we recruit many professional friends and colleagues who are professional cast and crew of the movie industry (often Veterans themselves) and pair them with other Veterans in order to produce, shoot and edit a non-commercial script in a short period of time - usually over a long weekend or series of weekends – and ending with a screening festival and recognition ceremony for the Veteran and participants.  The end result is a Veteran, who feels recharged, reinvigorated, and inspired with new vocational skills translatable to civilian employment and hands-on tangible outcome to show for their effort as well as a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.  The Crestline Creative Arts Foundation (CCAF), then takes the non-commercial artistic short film produced BY Veterans, FOR Veterans to Film Festivals around the world representing the efforts of “Call To Action” in hopes of inspiring other Veterans to tell their stories and enjoin in future projects.

The latest “Call To Action” project is a short script, which is licensed from world a renowned THRILLER author and is to be headed up by director Paul Ward of Ireland (One For The Road), reunited with producer  Gigi Porter-Bannister, Reggie Bannister  and our talented and experienced Director of Photography Michael Bates (Bloody Bloody Bible Camp) will be joining us, among others.

                                                                    "MUTE" THE STORY:
Set in Post war 1945, “MUTE” is the story of a Veteran (Monette – TBD.) who is a lapsed Catholic and book salesman.  Monette confesses to a Priest (Reggie Bannister ) about his travels where he picked up a hitchhiker (Stanley Douchette - TBD) along his way who was horribly disfigured from the war and who represents to be a deaf mute.  Monette tells the Priest, he vented with Douchette his troubles at home with his two-timing, gambling, drinking, party girl of a wife (Barbara Monette) who is fooling around with her beau, Robert Yandowsky, on his dime and who may have conspired to  embezzle from the local school board thus depriving all the local kiddies of school funds.  Monette seeks absolution by the Priest when he realizes - to his horror - that he may have been complicit in the bloody double murder of his wife and her lover by Douchette – and may or may NOT be so repentant about his role the outcome.

SHOOTING SCHEDULE:        Continued to August 2018 to allow for further funding opportunities and schedule conflicts.  We hope to begin construction of Props for the "Confessional" in March 2018.  Currently searching for costumes, props and CARS for the Post War era (1944-1946) in the Inland Empire area.
