Computers for Moundville Library

My name is Lindsey Mullins and I am the director of the Moundville Public Library in Moundville, AL. Our library is the only public building that offers free WiFi and computers for the community members. The current computers are 6 years old and are out of date. We've tried updating them many times, but they no longer will. The Moundville Public Library desperately needs new computers so that our patrons can easily job search, take online courses, do research, write papers, and much more. Our goal is to raise $10,000. 12 new desktops and 2 laptops will be purchased. Our WiFi will also be upgraded so patrons using their own laptop or tablet will have faster internet. Please feel free to share with friends and family. Let's help make our Library a better place for our community!

Update:
Some concerns have been made as to why we are not using a grant or why the city is not purchasing the computers. The library is allowed to apply for 1 large state grant a year; this year, we applied for the grant to get new computers and upgrade our internet. However, we were not chosen. There are smaller grants throughout the year that I can and will be applying for, but it will still not be enough to purchase all 12 needed computers. The city IS helping us, but only a portion of the total cost. I understand that $10,000 seems like a lot of money, but, if 500 people gave $20, that's half of our goal. There are 2000+ people in our community. If you, your child, or even someone you know, uses our library, please consider donating. For those of you that are not comfortable using the online site to donate, you can come by the library and donate with cash or check.

Also-this is not the only fundraiser we will be doing. We're also going to be selling Krispy Kreme dough-nut cards and having fundraiser nights at several different local restaurants.
