Molly's Hip Replacement Surgery

Molly is our beloved St Bernard mix. She loves to run and play with her brother Angus. She's the sweetest dog and love's to sit on anyone's lap.
We noticed she had stopped running and was limping more and not putting her weight on her left side. After a trip to the vet for x-rays she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both of her hips. Her left side is severely arthritic and is basically bone on bone. Our vet recommended a Total Hip Replacement. We sent her x-rays to the surgeon for his opinion. He explained that replacing her left hip would prolong her life and give her 100% relief on her left side. The hip would never wear out and she would be able to bear more weight on the left side, easing the discomfort on the right side.
Molly will have a Total Hip Replacement on May 16. Dr. Acker at the Sun Valley Animal Center will perform the surgery. Recovery time is 2 months. Molly will be restricted to a leash for this time. Afterwards, she will return to her normal self and will enjoy running and playing again.
The cost of the surgery is $4800. We are trying to raise half of the amount. Any amount you can contribute will greatly help! We appreciate and are grateful for any contributions for Molly's surgery.
