Michael Mayfield Scholarship Fund

Michael J Mayfield was a student at Edmondson Westside High School, graduating in the class of 2014. Michael, better known as Mike, was involved in a numerous amount of extra curricular activities  at Edmondson. He was a Peer Mediator,  EWHS Band member, SGA member, and MD811 Air Force JROTC unit's Commander of Drill and Ceremonies. On April 16, 2014 Michael was killed to a senseless act of violence. Since Michaels death, friends, students, and staff at Edmondson High School vowed to keep the school and community uplifted in harmony and nonviolence. Students sign a pledge stating they will think before they act, and evaluating every situation thoroughly. In honor of Mike, friends and family have come together to form this project. The Michael Mayfield Project has annual concerts, The Michael Mayfield Legacy Concert,  to honor Mike's musical legacy, and raises awareness about nonviolence.
