Michelle's Lodge at Moccasin Trail

Dear Friends,
Michelle Ann Koss was a true pioneer who inspired our community to be more active and enjoy the natural beauty of northern Wisconsin. Her winter-time passion was cross country skiing, and with her encouragment and support many of us now consider winter to be the most wonderful season of the year.
The Moccasin Ski Trail system offers everyone in our community a beautiful setting for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, camping and horseback riding. To enhance enjoyment of this special place, our goal is to build a four-season shelter, free for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy a warm fire, play games, and fuel up for an outdoor adventure. The lodge will also be used by clubs and school organizations, which will add to the sense of community for both experienced users and newcomers to the world of silent sports.
In gratitude and admiration for her full and vivacious life, and in honor of countless beloved memories, we dedicate this chalet: "Michelle's Lodge."
Project Costs. Funds will be used for chalet materials, and matched with donated labor. The materials cost for the lodge is $41,450 in total, and we have broken this down into two phases. For this online "Friends of Michelle" campaign, our goal is to raise a total of $15,000. For extra fun and a sense of accomplishment, we have split this into two short phases:
Phase 1: $7,500 by July 1, 2016 to pay for the initial building supplies. That'll get us off the ground.
Phase 2: An additional $7500 by August 15 to pay for the cost of the fireplace and the interior furnishings and finishing. (In addition to being a nurse, health educator, and amazing athlete, Michelle was an excellent interior decorator!)
Your chalet donation will be remembered forever under your name in a plaque inside the chalet. When the Phase 2 campaign is complete, we will present a single big check from "Michelle's Friends" to the Moccasin Ski Club. Dr. Maggie Turnbull will be responsible for collecting the funds through this site and recording the list of donors. If you wish to remain anonymous, please just attach a note saying so.
