Ramp it UP for Mike McBride

When Mike McBride of McHenry, IL walked into the ER on November 18, 2016, because of severe pain from a feisty kidney stone, no one could have even imagined him not being able to walk back out within a day or two after having it removed.
The unimaginable happened........Mike is now paralyzed.
In an unrelated but simultaneous turn of events, Mike also had a spontaneous hemorrhage in his spine. It was likely caused from being on a blood thinner from a 2011 triple bypass and heart valve replacement surgery.
Mike is currently in a hospital in Chicago and will be moving to a rehab facilty so he can learn how to deal with his new reality. At this time it is unclear if the paralysis is short term (1 year) or permanent. Either way, this is unbelievably stressful on the entire family.
While Mike is rehabbing his body, Jen will be in charge of modifying the house. So, during the next 4-6 weeks the carpets will be removed and replaced with hard floors. The doorways will be widened and the small half bath will become a full handicap accessible bathroom. These extensive legally required changes must be completed before Mike will be allowed to return home post rehab. I am sure there will be many more expenses that we don't even know about.
Mike, Jen, Maddy, Mar and Ty are asking for donations to help defray these expense of preparing the first floor of their home for Mike's return.
These are all achievable things that can be accomplished with your help. Your help will give Mike the comfort and independence needed to adjust and focus on his healing. We all want Mike to return to being the joke-telling, baseball loving, guitar playing, hard working family man that we all know and love.
