This house has stood the test of times for nearly 300 years. The earliest deed on the property dates back to 1721, a full 55 years before our Nations Independence!
It's close proximity to the Susquehanna River has brought  significant flooding to Her thresholds. 1889, St. Patrick's Flood of 1936, Hurricane Agnes in 1972, and Iris in 2011, and the house is still standing strong.

Since our owning the property, we have made several improvements. Now, we need to refurbish the exterior and it is quite expensive. Our most cost effective quote has been by a local Amish masonry firm in the area.
Just the history alone on this property is interesting. A Hemp Mill in 1720, the Hiestand Saw Mill in 1879-80, canals in the 19th century,  and a rail line running through that fed the industries in the area.
Lancaster County is currently constructing a hiking trail Lancaster Northwest River Trail within 20 feet of this house. Thousands of people will be passing by this house on a yearly basis, and we would like for them to see the beauty in the historical site.
We will greatly appreciate your contributions as they will go to beautifying the outside of the house for all to enjoy for many more years to come.
