In the evening on April 21, the world lost a precious asset in Marcus H. Denton. Marcus and his friend, Serena Garcia, were found dead in Colorado Springs. Two suspects have been detained in connection with their untimely deaths.

Marcus loved to sing and perform, was an amazing baseball player, and always followed his heart. His legacy will continue to inspire many to live life to the fullest. He was a role model to more people than he knew and always made time for family and friends no matter the distance. Marcus was a truly special person.
This tragedy reminds us life is short and not promised. Live life to the fullest, love hard, be grateful each day and to cherish friendships and relationships because you never know when the last time you may see someone will be. Marcus has given us the gift of remembering this hard life lesson. He will always be remembered.
Marcus's family has been working with a victim advocacy group to arrange the transportation of Marcus to his final resting place in Atchison. Some funds are being provided by this group, but it is not enough to give our fallen friend the burial and remembrance he deserves.
The goal of this gofundme is to raise funds for Marcus's Memorial which will include covering the remaining costs of the transport from Colorado to Kansas, his funeral, and to provide resources to his family to be able to take the time needed to rebuild their lives after an unimaginable loss of a child and brother. At the moment we have set the goal at $5,000 and any donation large or small is greatly appreciated.
The memorial service is Saturday May 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Baptist Church. Visitation will be held May 4, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. See the below link for futher information.
