Mandy's Memorial

Donation protected
Amanda passed away on September 25, 2018 I am keeping her original message below so everyone knows how much of a fighter she was.  She was able to come home for a few days to see her dog and sleep comfortably in her own bed but had to go back to the hospital soon after.  127 total days in the hospital since May 4, 2018 there was a complication during a procedure and she was unable to come back to us and passed with a room full of nurses, doctors, and her family by her side.  She is missed so much but we know she is not suffering any longer.  WE LOVE YOU AMANDA!  The page remains active if donations would like to made.

I found myself first in battle when at the age of 18 I experienced total liver failure due to a standard antibiotic. In a matter of months I went from carefree teenager to  terrified adult staring at the harsh reality of a lifetime of illness or imminent death. The battle rages, what was once a strong, young, healthy body becomes withered and ravaged by disease that breathes death into her. Onward to battle.  BOXING GLOVES ON (pink of course) FIGHT FOR MIRACULOUS GIFT OF TRANSPLANT BEGINS !
January 29th, 2001, my first victory, I receive the miraculous gift of life, Mandy 1-Liver Disease-0. TKO!!!!!
Fight number 2 began in January 2004. I find myself once more at deaths door fighting to stay alive.  A massive rejection of my transplanted liver led me to hospitalization and placement on the transplant waiting list once again. I struggled even more than with my first transplant as my kidneys began to fail.  Donor matches came in but often times my body was too sick to endure such major surgery. Boxing gloves on once more I win my fight April 5, 2004 and receive a new liver. Mandy-2 Liver Disease 0.
Battle number three begins May 2018 I wake up with a breathing tube in my throat as I find myself restrained to a hospital bed in the ICU. Once the breathing tube was removed I am informed by family that I have been in that state for nearly 2 weeks very close to dying many times. Now I've always been aware that a third transplant would be in my future but I never imagined it would be so soon and my body could deteriorate so quickly. At this point my liver and kidneys are completely gone and I am placed on top of the transplant waiting list for both a liver and a kidney transplant. The fight begins.
57 days admitted in the hospital had very many ups and downs, back and forths to the ICU, too many close calls and buckets of tears shed.  Day 57 I receive  word of a match. Day 58 I receive the miraculous gift of life.
Though words can't begin to express how grateful I am for transplant and all the amazing care I have received prior to transplant this was not something myself and my family were financially prepared for. This illness left me unable to work and medical expenses are piling up. I am still currently admitted to the hospital and have no anticipated date for going home. I am finding myself drowning in medical bills that arrive in the mailbox daily. I am humbly asking you help me continue my fight by making a donation toward my fund. Any size donation would be a blessing and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this even if unable to make a contribution you will know the importance of spreading the word on organ donation.
