Maisie, Hadley, and Rollie and Mama

The Cat Connection mainly exists to rescue stray and abandoned cats, but we also try to help people in tough situations when we can. Like the owner of four senior  cats who needed to go into a nursing home recently. Sadly, she had no one who could take these sweet girls: Mama and her three daughters, Maisie, Hadley, and Rollie.

The Cat Connection agreed to find foster homes for each pair of cats, which we have successfully done. Mama, Maisie, Hadley and Rollie are currently safe and sound adjusting to their new foster homes.  They were all taken to the vet (as we do for all our foster cats) and had tests and bloodwork done, as senior cats are prone to health problems.

Mama, Maisie, Hadley and Rollie (all between the ages of 16 and 17)  tests showed several borderline health issues that will surely progress in the near future. For example, Mama has the beginning of a thyroid disorder.  Her daughter Mazie may have a seizure disorder and is being closely monitored. If she continues or get worse  she will be started on seizure medications.


We anticipate having these cats in our care for the rest of their lives, so we're trying to plan for current and future vet bills and medications (since most of our fundraising & donations goes to pay for our regular monthly vet bills for the 200+ cats in our care at any given time).   The Cat Connection spends between $7,000 and $10,000 per month on veterinary costs including medications.

Mama and her daughters Maisie, Hadley and Rollie are just one story of how The Cat Connection cares about ending the suffering for all cats, no matter how old! Thanks so much for your donation to this cause!
