Maddox's Cancer Journey

Donation protected
On May 19, 2019 we got devastating news that our sweet 6 year old boy had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.

We originally went in because he had been having back pain for a few weeks. I hadn't really thought of it as he was in karate so I figured it was soreness from that. He had fallen at school on May 15 so I brought him to the ER and they did an US, X-ray and CT and saw his spleen was enlarged. So they transferred him to St Josephs Children's hospital in Tampa where he underwent blood work and they had seen some cells that looked like leukemia cells. The next day he had a bone marrow biopsy which she wasn't able to get any bone marry liquid because it was very hard to pull out. They got actual bone samples though to test.

The next day we got the news in fact it was leukemia and that's why his back was hurting because the cells were pushing outward inside his spine.

Monday May 20 he had surgery to get a port put in his chest for his chemo treatments and a lumbar puncture with an intrathecal chemo. Thank goodness it was negative for any bad cells.  Tues May 21 was his first day chemotherapy.

He was in the hospital for 13 days which had a huge affect on our income. We are a family of 7 and are now on one income part time. We are grateful all your support. No donation is to small. Even if you can give $1 to help us be able to take care of our son and the other 4 children.
This is a 3 year journey. I have started a Facebook page where you can follow him.
