cant pay for uni :( identity fraud!
I cant believe it, someone has stolen my identity and stopped my university funding.
To start, I'm currently studying an MSc in Cognitive neuroscience course at university of York. At the beginning of the course I had applied for my loans and one had been acceped (SFE) and the other was up to the final signiture letter (co-op's professional & career development loan). All i needed to do was recieve, sign and send back the letter to recieve my funding. Unfortunatly I never recived this letter and a week later was told that my aplication had been cancled because I was trying to take out other bank accounts and loans.
This was not the case!
As it turns out, someone had been stealing some of my post, once they had recieved the co-op letter they had all my details and tried to steal my identity and open up various banks and loans. Thankfully they never got any thing but now for the past four months I have been continuiously been in contact with many companies (like experia, the fraud team, Co-op and others) to resolve this issue. I thought after the four months it had all been sorted and was advised to apply for my loan again. I did this and again got a negitive result.
As it stands, I have been rejected again...
My creadit rating is fine (918 out of 999) and I still can't seem to resolve this issue. I am stuck now and don't know what to do. All I want is to study and continue with my course but it is looking more and more likely that I'm going to be kicked out due to lack of funds.
A friend suggested that I should have a look at this site and considure putting up a post. This seems like a last shot I have at getting the funds to continue my course at university.
Just to add, I'm student representitive for my class mates and have good reviews from my peers and university lecturers in regards to helping people where ever and when ever I can. I hate to ask people for money, its the last thing I ever want to do but I don't know where else to turn anymore.
