Historical Building & Roof Repair
Mountainair is located in the frontier region of Central New Mexico. The MMAC Center provides a safe and positive place for cultural events, creative activities, classes for families, youth and adults, and art openings for the local community. The building is also used to hold private events for local families, the Mountainair Schools, and houses iCreate's office. This community is without public transportation and has experienced a poverty rate over 25%. The MMAC Center roof is over twenty years old with some leaking during wet weather. While assessing additinal roof damage from a nearby fire in 2016, MMAC's Board members realized that there was no alternative other than major repairs to the roof. Other building repairs have also taken precedence to keep preserve the historical integrity of the building. The Manzano Mountain Art Council is often times providing the community with their only local access to art, music and cultural events. Please know your contribution make a direct difference and positive impact on this community. MMAC is asking for funds for repairing of the roof and sections of degraded stucco. There are no words to thank you enough for your generosity. Your support will keep the building open and will allow MMAC to continue to serve these Manzano mountain and range land families.+ Read More
