Laying a Sister in Christ to Rest

My former student and friend, Marissa, lost her mom the day before Thanksgiving.  This has been a devastating blow as her father died years ago.  Marissa is from a low-income family and only works part time due to a learning disability.  The funeral home has refused to do anything for the family before they pre-pay about $8,000.  They also warned that time is of the essence in situations such as this.  The family has no savings or life insurance.
