Special Olympics World Winter Games in Austria from 14-25 March 2017

The next World Games event will take place in 2017 from 14 –25 March in Graz. Thousands of Special Olympics athletes will gather from over 110 countries to compete in 8 Winter sports at Venues in Graz, Schladming, Ramsauand Schladming-Rohrmoos. Special Olympics state and country Programs prepare for at least two years leading up to this flagship event as they want to have a strong team represent their country, as well as wanting their athletes to have a truly rewarding, life-changing experience while at the Games.

The Challenge
Unfortunately, many Ugandan athletes that would benefit most from attending and competing at the world Games face numerous challenges due to limited financial resources available to cover their transport to the Games venue. We have set up this fundraising campaign particularly seeking for air tickets cover, team preparation expenses and kits

The World Games Team from Uganda consists of 16 athletes competing in Floor Hockey. In addition, there are 6 officials accompanying the athletes (coaches and chaperones) who will assist the athletes through the competition and travel experience and 2 volunteer media staff.

The team is currently facing a massive financial constraint that may not enable us take part in the upcoming world winter games. It has been support of well-wishers across the world that has in most cases made it possible for our athletes since most of these athlete come from single parent families with humble backgrounds but would love to showcase their talent on the grandeur stage.

Our goal is to raise $28,700 before the end of February 2017 to allow us secure affordable Round air ticket and kit for the games that are due in March 2017 .We believe attending the games will be a wonderful experience for us and would be grateful for any contributions to this goal. May you not be able to give financial support, please share our course with your friends and family to allow us reaches our target.

Thank you for your support!!!
