Love Fund for the Dave Morin Family

Our dear friend Dave Morin checked in to Dartmouth-Hitchcock for scheduled gastric bypass surgery on Wednesday, October 5th. He had been working toward the surgery for some time and was excited to have it underway. He, Sara, and Jack anticipated he would have a quick one-night stay in the hospital.
Things didn't go according to plan.
Dave suffered an unusual reaction to his first surgery, which landed him in the operating room for a second surgery and then in the ICU. As of 10/18, Dave remains in the ICU and continues to be fully sedated. He is more stable than a week ago and is showing signs of improvement, but is still chronically, critically ill. We all have so much love for Dave, Sara, and Jack and many of us want to help them in some way. Dave has received over 7 units of blood so far, so Sara has encouraged us all to give blood to help "someone else's Dave." This is a great idea and some of us have already or will be doing this in Dave's honor.
Many of us have been itching to do more. For those who are interested, this fund is an opportunity to help.
In addition to the emotional toll of this ordeal, the financial impacts are myriad, far-reaching, and at this point the full scope is unknown.
As anyone who has gone through or been close to a medical crisis knows, the coming weeks and months will not be easy financially and we want Sara to have some choices and flexibility to handle it all. We want to help ease any non-Dave worries she has, and give her the freedom to focus on what's most important.
Dave and Sara have so many loving friends and family members. Your prayers and support messages on the Caring Bridge website are amazing. We ask that you continue to send your love and light, give blood, and contribute here if you are able. Even the smallest amount will help.
