Lou Boorman’s Sailing Fund

From having a go in a club Topper* at age 11, Lou has gone on to be the British Female Champion, Female National Series winner and British Female Inland Champion in a Topper. Within the last four years she has competed and trained all over Britain after being selected for the Welsh National Squad from 2013 onwards and the British National Squad from 2016. This is the result of the years of her hard work and commitment to the sport. *a small one-person sailing dinghy and Olympic pathway boat, shown in the picture. This year aged 16, Lou is transitioning from a Junior class to a Youth class called an Aero which is another competitive class of boat. As it is has a more mature fleet, Lou will be racing against sailors much older than herself. She hopes to succeed as she did in the Topper class however this will require even more dedication and commitment. Unfortunately, it will be more expensive as well and at the moment she is not able to cover these costs with a waitressing job. Lou was reluctant to ask for charity but it seems it will be the only way to get her to gold. Your donations will go towards training fees, competition entry fees, travel costs, accommodation, food, repairs, sailing clothing and gym fees.
