Dear family & friends,

I would like to ask you a personal favour. As most of you know, I am currently training hard to win Olympic gold at the Triathlon in Japan 2020. Triathlon combines my elite swimming background, my family history of naturally powerful bike riding endurance and recent track record of proven running ability.

I have already been selected by the Dutch Triathlon Federation to represent Holland in the International Triathlon Union, World cup and I am currently in the top 400 globally and 10th for Holland. For selection in the Olympics I need to be at least 140 in the world and compete well in 7 of the 12 international selection events this year (from starting June in Holland) and another 7 out of 12 next year.

I am 100% confident I can do this and look forward to this amazing journey. It will take hard work and endurance, great coaching, and competing at all the critical global championships to get me to the selection for Japan.

And that is where I would like to ask for your support. To help raise enough money for the required coaching and the ability for me to participate at those key championships.

Donations from as little as a few dollars to bigger sponsorships promoting your business are all very welcome.

Also, to make it even more attractive to donate, Chris Walker is personally committing one month of free coaching with him for everyone who donates more than $500. You can use this month as a gift to someone you think could benefit from this. In this way, donating to my Olympic journey will help to open even more hearts.

Looking forward to hear from you,

Lotte Wilms

ps. In case you happen to have spare frequent flyers miles you could donate - that would be more than appreciated as well. Just send me a message.

The last 2 months my days looks like a military house hold ;-) :

wake up, train for 2 hours, breakfast, having lots of snacks, train for 2 hours, having lunch, having more lots of snacks and a rest, afternoon training for 1,5 hour (or sometimes more), have dinner, relaxed and sleep! It is a big commitment and it is so worth it.

I feel so much strength in my body and mentally I got so strong from this.

I start calling my body the “machine” , because every time when I finished another hard training I I realise my body handled it again. This are periods of discomfort and hurt, only to push through this boundaries I become better equipped for my races. I learn to trust myself and my body. Of course I had days in my training that it didn’t work out as I had planned before. Yes, I got disappointed. Only I ask myself: does it help? Does this help to become me a better athlete? Yes, failure means you are challenging yourself to grow, and that is the pathway of success :-)

Today I’m packing my bags for the Europe trip! My first race would be the 2th of June at the Dutch championships in Rotterdam. After Rotterdam I have an European cup race in Weert, another city in the Netherlands. At the 17th of June I will compete in Antwerp, Belgium at the World Cup and the 9th of July I will be in Hungary for my second World Cup in Europe. You can follow all the results at: www.triathlon.org

I’m very excited and want to give a big thank you to all my supporters for there help to follow my dream!

Hug, “ the machine” ;-)

This is the video of my time trial I was asked to do for the Dutch Triathlon Federation. It went quite well at 2m 10 sec - which is still outside my PB but the best I've done since coming back to swimming six months ago after a 5 year layoff. Good to see all the training paying off and progressing. Thanks to my team and coaches for their help.
Time trial over 200 m for selection

The journey is a humbling one, there is always something to learn, something new to apply, a new step technique for running, more cornering speed on the bike and of course, improved stroke in my swim. It's wonderful to be a student and have so many people ready to give me support to improve my performances. Getting ready for Europe competitions.
I love the swimming facilities in Sydney
