Who says you have to check your brains at the door in order to believe the Bible?
My name is Pastor Al Davis . I host a live radio program, "Live with Pastor Al ," twice a week featuring caller’s questions about the Bible and current events in light of God's Word, interviews with occasional special guests, and discussions of various topics and issues of concern from a fundamental, Bible-believing Christian point of view.
I also pastor the Bible Baptist Church in Richfield, Ohio. The Bible Baptist Church is a small, independent Baptist church with a big desire to point people to Jesus Christ and to help them grow in their knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of God and His Word.
My church and I are committed to this task. Though we may be small and our financial resources limited, we began "Live with Pastor Al" by faith over ten years ago. Since that time, we have grown from one program a week on one station to two programs a week on four stations in Ohio and Florida. We have given sacrificially and have even passed on moving into a building of our own (we meet in a hotel), opting instead to put our money into our radio outreach.
Our current contract with our Florida radio stations runs through the end of April, 2017. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to continue beyond that on our own. We would like to renew our contract for another year but, at $180 per Sunday night broadcast, we are unable to come up with the $9360 necessary on our own.
Several special one-time gifts in the past have paid for our Florida broadcast and our church can meet the ongoing costs of our Ohio broadcasts. However, with a total monthly income at the Bible Baptist Church of less than $3000 a month and no special gifts looming on the horizon, we are forced to consider ending our Florida broadcast when the current contract runs out at the end of April.
I could spend all my time on the radio trying to raise money, but I'd rather spend as much time as possible answering caller's questions and talking about the Bible and current events in light of God's Word. Besides, I am neither a gifted salesman nor fundraiser. Consequently, we are reaching out through Go Fund Me to raise money to stay on the air in Florida. If you would like to help us, please prayerfully consider a gift in any amount. Even if you can't give financially at this time, please pray for our campaign and our radio program.
“Live with Pastor Al ” currently airs 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM each Sunday night on WHKW 1220 AM (Cleveland, Ohio), WHKZ 1440 AM (Warren, OH), and AM 570 & 910 WTBN (Tampa, FL), as well as 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM each Friday afternoon on WHKW 1220 AM (Cleveland, OH).
