Keep Futsal Free - Support Youth Soccer
Tax deductible
This Live Oak Futsal program is a FREE 8-week noncompetitive indoor soccer program for all genders. We are trying to raise $8,300 to support the operating costs of the Futsal program which provides physical and mental enrichment to the children of Live Oak, that would not otherwise be available to them.
This summer is the 10th anniversary season of Futsal! This program supports K-12 Live Oak youth in developing teamwork and leadership skills while promoting exercise and providing nutritional and literacy tools. It offers a structured, safe and encouraging environment for youth in the summer months.
The name futsal comes from a mix of the Spanish words futsal de sala. The participants meet and play 2-3 times per week and are coached by trained volunteers. The program is hosted by Live Oak Community Resource Center, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Cruz and Live Oak School District.
Organizing and running the Futsal program requires significant time and resources from the Live Oak Community Resource Center. We are in need of funds in the following areas:
1. Program Coordination. The Coordinator develops and oversees all aspects of the program from training 30-45 volunteer coaches and team parents to organizing game days logistics for 24 game days and approximately 20+ teams to overseeing implementation of 5 component enrichment curriculum: Literacy, Character Development, Education, Health, and Violence Prevention...and much more. Cost = $5000
2. Water bottles. Provide 150+ children participating with a water to encourage them to develop healthy habits.
Cost = $500
3. Nutritious snacks. We want to fuel the children with healthy protein rich foods at every game.
Cost = $2,400
4. Medals to celebrate the kids at the end of summer.
Cost = $400
All funds raised through this campaign go directly to Live Oak Community Resources, one of Community Bridges' 10 programs.
