Support Litzy's Study Abroad

My name is Litzy Bautista, I come from a financially strapped family of six. I am reaching out to you today to ask for financial support as I raise money to participate in an important, life changing, and fulfilling program this summer of 2018. With $3,500 to pay off by the end of May, I am imploring you to invest in my success.

I earned the opportunity to be apart of the Student Diplomacy Corps , which is a study abroad program, designed to build college readiness and deepen understanding of global issues among high school youth. 

My mission while there is to develop new language skills (Māori), as well as learn about the impact of modern-day colonialism on the indigenous Māori people of northern New Zealand. During this trip, I will attend a seminar and work with Māori experts, learning about the culture, participate in a traditional hangi workshop to prepare food in underground ovens, and ride down the mighty Te Paki sand dunes! I will also be given the opportunity to spend the day with students at Whangaroa College and meet local teens like myself. 

NYA  selected me because they know that this experience would not otherwise be an option for a student such as myself. With the hopes of one day starting my own real estate business and running for state senate, I ask that you invest in my future. With your contribution, I will feel supported and more driven to accomplish my goals. As I move forward as a leader in my high school, a strong voice on my college campus, and dedicated to civic engagement, I will know that I could only have made it with your support. Every dollar counts, and no contribution is too small.
