medical bills from our miscarriages

Donation protected

In the past 9 months we have lost two babies, Lily and Riley,  to miscarriage. Both pregnancies felt like miracles and both ended in heartbreak. We had to use fertility treatments in order to have our first child, Arabella, in 2014. At that time I was told that I couldn't ovulate on my own so when we found we were pregnant in 2016 we were in shock. Things seemed fine at first, then we went in for an ultrasound and we were told there was no heartbeat. At that time I had to have a D&C, luckily it went smoothly, however the out of pocket cost was high. Moving ahead to May 6th of 2017. I left work that night and had a grand-mal seizure. I have Right Temporal Lobe Epilepsy but my grand-mal seizures are well controlled so I knew that something was wrong. The next day I took a pregnancy test and it was positive.  I went to the OB/GYN and had an ultrasound, by the dates of my cycle I should have been 6wks but when they looked all theysaw a gestational sac, a yolk sac but no fetal pole. We were devastated but they said my levels were rising and it was possilble that my dates were just off. I was told to start taking progesterone and return in 10 days. When I went back they were now able to see the fetal pole, as well as the heartbeat, but the heartbeat was not strong enough to be measured... I had to return again in 10 days. At the time of the final ultrasound I could tell it wasn't going to end well. I wasn't having pregnancy symptoms and sometimes a mother just knows... they confirmed that there was no heartbeat. I was scheduled for a D&C two days later.  I had to miss three days of work because of this, Rich had to miss two... neither of us had the PTO to cover it. Unfortunately things did not go as smooth with this D&C as they did with the first one.  I have not stopped bleeding and suffering blood clots. I have had to go to the ER twice and it has been recommended that I have a follow up D&C, but I had to decline as we cannot afford it. We are still paying bills from the first proceedure when we lost Lily, now the bills from Riley's D&C are coming in, so a third one is just out of the question. Each proceedure has cost roughly 1,500 out of pocket. This combined with the ER visits, Rx meds, office visits, ultrasounds and missed work has put us in a very difficult situation.
We have canceled our wedding which was set for October 07, 2017 and are trying to cut corners everywhere we can, but even with both of us working full time it has been hard to make ends meet. We would appreciate any help you are willing to give.  Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
