Lilly's IMHA Treatments

Donation protected
Most of you know Drew Kilpatrick.  He's a friend from junior high/high school.  I've known him almost 30 years(wow, we are old).  Drew LOVES Lilly.  She's his companion.  Lilly has been sick off and on now for a while and he's spent close to $5k getting her diagnosed and treated.  Unfortunately, she continues to have health problems related to her newly diagnosed IMHA.

This is Lilly's story:

On or about a month ago, Lily was diagnosed with IMHA (Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia), which is a potentially fatal disease that causes her immune system to attack its own red blood cells. Normal counts are between 35-50. When she went in originally it was 10, but she made a recovery and it got up to 32.

Since then she has had a relapse and is looking at another round of blood transfusions and medications that are very expensive.

Up to this point I have covered all of her medical expenses totaling over $5,000, but at this point we are running out of options.

I know that many people may think it's crazy to keep going with this and that I should have put her down, but the fact is she's a healthy dog other than this nasty disease that is expensive but treatable.

She has a huge will to live and is a fighter. Lily has effected many people from New York City all the way to Alabama and is an amazing dog. She is a favorite not only to me, but many other people as well.

Donated money will go to cover her medical expenses only for this round of treatment. If she is unable to make it through this round, the decision to put her down will have to be made.

If monetary donations are not in your budget, we ask for any well wishes and/or prayers, and to please share this post. IMHA IS very scary and she needs all the good thoughts she can.

The vet bill is currently estimated anywhere from $5000-$8000 with predicted medication at $200/month.

Please help us support Lily in her time of need by making a contribution to this campaign. Anything helps. We greatly appreciate it.
