Liberty Farms Veteran Training

Donation protected

Liberty Farms, 501(c)(3) organization, will assist American Veterans and their families become sustainable farmers and entrepreneurs all at no cost to them. All we ask in return is that they help us to pay it forward by donating a small percentage of their profits to Liberty Farms for the first five years.

This round of funding will be used to build the hands on working farm training facility. The output from the training facility will fund the program so no further outside funding will be required. No other program does this. Here veterans will be trained in all phases of running and managing their farm over an 8 week period on a working farm. The will work on three successive phases.

1) System Startup. During this phase our veteran farmers will learn how start the system.

2) Daily management of a system mid way to first harvest including water quality, nutrient management and testing.

3) Harvesting & replenishment. How to harvest, package the produce and fish for shipment and replenish the system for continuous harvest.

Our veterans will live on site for the duration of the training program and may bring their families to stay and work with them as they learn. Upon completion of the training program each trainee will be certified in organic food production.

Phase 2:

Once trained Liberty Farms will obtain all the required  permits and materials to build their greenhouse and growing system on the veterans land. Liberty Farms will erect the system and assist in all phases of startup.

The Aquaponics system produces fish as well as vegetables by converting fish waste into fertilizer and irrigation runoff from the plants provide clean water to the fish in a closed loop system.

These systems are environmentally friendly and use less space and less than 10% of the water required for traditional farming.
