Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is a non profit organization dedicated to the rescue of wolfdogs and northern breeds.
One of our most recent rescues, Lexi, came in with a severe bladder stone and suffered a dislocated hip. She is currently at the C.A.R.E Centre awaiting surgery. She will require a cystotomy to remove the large bladder stone, as well as an open reduction of her dislocated hip. Due to it being the Thanksgiving holiday her surgery likely won't be scheduled until Wednesday so we are looking to raise enough funds to cover her surgery.
Between the 2 surgeries as well as her stay at the C.A.R.E Centre we are looking at a $16,000 vet bill.
Lexi is a 4 year old Husky who had a difficult life prior to arriving at the sanctuary. She has a long list of medical issues that were left untreated for many months. Even though she has suffered such a degree of neglect, she is a very sweet and loving girl who loves nothing more than being indoors, around people, curled up on a dog bed. Lexi is a wonderful dog who very much deserves a second chance.
Lexi and all of us here at the Sanctuary would be very appreciative of any donations supporting her veterinary costs. We have had an influx in medical cases in the last week and as a small non-profit organization we have limited resources. Any donations towards Lexi's current and ongoing care would go a long way to helping us provide Lexi with the necessary procedures she needs to make her into a healthy and happy dog!
