Hough Lady Huskies - #TreonStrong

Donation protected
On July 29, 2015, Scott Treon, father of Hough High School's Lady Husky softball team player, Madelyn Treon, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a particularly aggressive form of brain cancer.  He was taken from us way too soon, on September 5, 2016.  You often hear the phrase, someone “lost their battle with cancer”, but Scott reminded Madi shortly before his death that “cancer did not beat me.  I have reached the finish line.  Heaven is the finish line.  Heaven is the prize.”  Scott did not lose his battle with cancer.

Scott dedicated his life to giving back to the community, and he did so in so many ways.  He served as the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Huntersville and he was very involved in his church, particularly with the youth.  Scott also worked tirelessly as both a basketball and softball coach, for teams on which his children played and teams that they did not.  Scott spent his life “paying it forward” and to carry on that legacy, his family is in the process of establishing a non-profit organization in his honor to help others and to raise awareness about brain cancer.  They have already begun to pay it forward with their organization by making a substantial donation, funded with proceeds of a charity softball tournament held in Scott's honor in November, 2016,  to a local hospice facility and with plans to start a scholarship for student athletes.
The Hough High School softball team would like to help the Treon family “pay it forward”, by raising money to help fund their non-profit organization.  Any donation that you can make, large or small,  will be greatly appreciated.   On February 28, 2017, at the season home opener game, the team formally dedicated the 2017 softball season to the memory of Scott Treon.  A banner now hangs in center field honoring him.   The team will be fundraising all season, collecting donations at the games, through this gofundme page, as well as a  carwash, which will be held in April.   Again, all funds raised will be dontated to the Treon family, to help fund their non-profit organization.

Thank you so much for visiting this page, and for your support!
